Magic, once purged from the Kingdom of Magh, has returned. This time, the world might not survive.
Lyn has the rare ability to sense, even see, the magic in things and people. Outcast, she offers her skills for hire, not caring for what as long as she’s paid. Success after success sends her ego flying high, and her reputation spreads far and wide. She believes she’s unstoppable and there’s nothing she can’t do.
So teaming up with a too-clean street sweeper, Tass, wasn’t part of her plan. Being around him is like throwing water on hot oil, but she needs him to complete the most important job she’s ever taken: to find the secret behind the Chamber of Power, a mythical place said to hold the power of a thousand suns, and the source of a darkness bleeding into the land that’s corrupting people and places.
Their search has Lyn questioning everything she thought she knew, and seriously worried they’re already too late to save the world.
Chamber of Power is a fantasy serial dripping with magic, portals, and creatures that follows characters struggling to know themselves even as they strive to solve the mystery of the Chamber of Power.
New episodes post every Saturday.
The descriptions are just teasers from within each episode.
Season 1
The Chamber of Power - I jumped back when I heard the whoosh.
It’s All Wrong - Love magic is always strong in those. So strong that you’re still smiling as they tear your throat out.
Mediation as Entertainment - She adjusted the hat back to being just a little catawampus...
The Bintinn is Real - His shoulders dropped a little, and some color returned to his face. He gulped down half a pint in one go...
Leaving Kenuport - This close to the chamber still, I hadn’t dared take the chance I’d dream and travel back there to whatever lay in wait.
Don’t Drink the Water - At this point, if she ever ended back in the town, she might skip being sick and die immediately. Just from fear.
In Search of a Healer - The shadows were long and dark by the time the outline of Yiat rose from the horizon.
An Abrasive Healer - A form, vague but solid, came toward me. I shut my eyes, willing it to keep its distance. It still came.
Waterfalls Are Dangerous - I knew without looking my coin purse was gone…
It’s in the Tea - The cleanliness, the lack of magic, the silence—other than the shuffling of the man back and forth from the cabinet—both calmed me and made my skin crawl.
No Dreams - When I looked at them, I had a nagging feeling that I’d dreamt them, or of them, though I couldn’t remember anything.
Not My Problem - There was a tune playing in my head. It was strange, familiar, and entirely too calming.
Season 2
He Said Please - Why would they care if I descended into madness from lack of sleep or the nightmares that came when I did?
Questions and More Questions - A shadowy figure emerged from the darkness of the alley and beckoned me closer.
Why Water? - I’d read about extreme treatments used on those that couldn’t, or wouldn’t, reject their power.
The Story I Needed to Know - The darkness they carried spread like an infection across the land, town after town falling victim.
Uncorrupted - My body filled with a power roiling from deep within, leaking out over the land.
An Unlikely Weapon - There was a warmth coming from them that I had only experienced as a child...
The Mantel Grows - I stared at Asher. He hadn’t struck me as the sarcastic or joking type.
To kill, or Not to Kill - In all my escapades, I’d never had to go to such extremes.
Running Out of Time - Working with someone who hated me wasn’t going to happen. Which, of course, meant she’d hate me more.
Portside - “We need to get out. All of us.”
The Wyrcome - “There’s only this little bit now and most people won’t go near them. Afraid of the magic in them, the evil spirits.”
Final episode of Season 2 is next!
The Land of Magh
Once Lyn started traveling around Magh, I knew I needed a map. This is the current state of the places I know exist in the world. I’m a discovery writer so new things pop up all the time. I’ll keep this map updated as the story evolves.
